With its layered geometric construction and soft pastel colour palette, the lamp is a beautiful example of scandinavian lighting design from the period, combining functional illumination with a playful space age aesthetic.

the lamp is constructed from a series of overlapping lacquered metal shades in white with a contrasting soft lilac inner shade. Rather than allowing the bulb to shine directly into the room, the layered shades reflect and redirect the light between their surfaces, producing a warm, diffused and largely glare-free illumination. When switched on, the different levels become individually illuminated, emphasizing the sculptural architecture of the lamp and creating a particularly atmospheric effect.

form-light was a danish lighting manufacturer known for its robustly constructed metal lamps and distinctly scandinavian approach to lighting. Its designs from the 1970s and 1980s frequently employed layered shades and indirect illumination, combining clean geometric forms with carefully controlled light.
