A very flat portable typewriter in black. The plana was built in erfurt, first by olympia before the war and then, after the factory became a state-owned works in east germany, under the optima name. The red plate on the underside carries the erfurt maker's mark.
what makes the plana unusual is the height. This one is under 10 cm high with a full four-row keyboard and a tabulator, which is flat for a machine of this period. The case bottom stays attached to the machine and detaches with levers.
four-row qwertz keyboard, typebar mechanism with front strike, black body with chrome trim and the gold optima and plana decals on the front.
the machine works. It needs new ribbons and a proper clean before regular use — i have not serviced the mechanism myself, so i am pricing it accordingly.
dimensions: 32 cm wide, 31 cm deep, 9.7 cm high. With the case: 35 × 35.5 × 10.3 cm. This piece has an attribution mark,
i am sure that it is completely authentic and take full responsibility for any authenticity
