It is very detailed and quite unique. Of course it can be used for many other things other than jewelry. It is 10" wide, 6.5" high and the top lid is 9.5" top x 3/4". The circle opening is 6.5" wide and 4" deep. It is very heavy and has quite unique and unusual markings in beautiful gold and chocolate brown hues and such different indented markings that resemble raised cut pieces of some kind of copper or brass or metal material. I'm unsure of what the composite wood-like material is, but it is remarkable, like one of a kind special professional piece. I have enjoyed it for over 50 years, and it has been sitting in the same place since I moved for 25 years. See less
