Crafted in … Read more Both decorative and practical, this antique hall tree brings architectural character to an entryway, dressing room, or bedroom. Crafted in France circa 1920, the freestanding coat rack features a tall walnut standard composed of two richly turned barley-twist sections, joined at the center by an ornate gilt-brass collar with foliate detailing.

The upper section is crowned by a decorative finial and fitted with a swiveling arrangement of four double coat and hat hooks. Each gracefully curved brass arm terminates in a shell-form tip, while additional smaller hooks beneath provide convenient storage for belts, scarves, or accessories. The rack stands securely on an elaborate gilt-brass tripod base decorated with classical female masks, scrolling acanthus leaves, and three outstretched legs ending in paw feet.

The warm walnut grain and deep, mellow patina contrast beautifully with the aged gilt-brass mounts, giving the piece a refined Belle Époque presence. Elegant yet highly functional, this tall hall tree offers ample hanging space without occupying a large footprint. It is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, with a rich walnut patina and beautifully aged gilt finish.
