This petite fixture features cascading, hand-blown Cristallo glass elements, masterfully layered with opaque Lattimo and translucent amber glass that is suspended from a metal frame. Utilizing the traditional Sommerso technique, each hand-formed glass shell features a dense, stark-white core of opaque Lattimo milk glass or a fluid, translucent layer of rich amber glass. These bold colored stripes are seamlessly encased within a thick, high-clarity Cristallino border, creating a brilliant interplay of light, rich texture, and warmth.

The historical significance is rooted in the early years of the La Murrina workshop. Founded in 1968 by a collective of elite Murano master glassblowers, the company entered a transformative era in 1974 when it was acquired by a prominent Milanese industrialist family. This pivotal merger successfully married centuries-old Venetian glass artistry with sophisticated Milanese industrial metalwork, resulting in highly collectible, innovative lighting sculptures that defined the high-end Italian design movement of the 1970s.

Thanks to its compact dimensions and light weight, it offers remarkable spatial versatility. It is perfectly scaled for spaces with lower ceilings or smaller footprints, making a luxurious statement in entryways, sophisticated powder rooms, or intimate dining alcoves.

A three-tier version of this La Murrina fixture is also available. Please view our shop profile to see the matching full-scale shell chandelier to complete a cohesive multi-room design layout.
