The tall rectangular mirror is crowned with an elaborate Rococo pediment centered on a sculptural shell cartouche, surrounded by scrolling acanthus leaves, floral motifs, and gracefully intertwined foliage. The openwork carving creates a dramatic silhouette, reflecting the decorative artistry of 19th-century French craftsmanship.

The molded wood frame features extended upper and lower corners, richly embellished with carved foliate scrollwork and delicate ornamental details. Its original parcel-gilt and painted finish displays a warm, aged patina, with subtle variations in gold tones that accentuate the depth of the carving. The mirror retains its original mercury glass plate, offering the distinctive reflective character associated with antique French mirrors, as well as its original wooden backing.

The antique wall mirror is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use. New hanging wire and hooks have been installed on the back for easy installation. With its generous proportions and elaborate crest, this decorative mirror would make a beautiful addition to an entryway above a console, over a fireplace mantel, or as a focal point in a powder room or living room.
