Mahogany kneehole desk by Charak Furniture Co. of Boston, MA, numbered 2006 and dated 1932. The desk has banded drawers, with one long drawer over a shallow recessed cupboard fitted with one shelf, flanked by three drawers on either side, and is raised on shaped bracket feet. There are seven solid brass working locks and the original key.
The desk presents a Georgian-style form in mahogany, with a central kneehole arrangement and a balanced bank of drawers around the recessed cupboard.
