Beautiful and large, vintage Murano hand blown rich orange over white, and gold flecks Italian art glass bird sculpture. The figure is documented to the Salviati company. The bird still has the original "Salviati & Co - Venice - Made In Italy" label underneath. The bird, or duck, is flapping its wings like it wants to take off flying, or just landed on the branch. The color fades from a rich dark orange to white at the end of the tail, in an Ombre or "Sommerso" technique. The piece is profusely covered in gold leaf throughout. It stands on a large tree branch with leafs, also filled with gold. Would make a great display piece on any coffee table, credenza or mantel. Showcase it as a decorative piece in any room. Mid-century era. Measures: 10 3/4" tall x 8" long x 6" wide.
