She was … Read more Fine large antique Japanese silk scroll painting by Ogata Kaho (1880-1925), a female Japanese-style painter born in Osaka. She was a disciple of Takeuchi Seiho (1864-1942). Signed and sealed by the artist. Title: "Oharame (The Women of Ohara Village)". Masterfully painted. Very detailed. Watercolor and ink on silk over paper. Beautifully mounted on silk. Bone roller ends. Paper on back. Comes in an original wooden case. Japan, late Meiji to Taisho Era, c. early 20th century. Excellent to Very Good condition - minor age wear and and minor foxing, clean. This scroll can be trimmed and framed.
