Large oil on canvas depicting a wooded landscape animated with figures, with a thatched cottage in the background, set in a twilight or late-afternoon atmosphere.

A decorative composition of generous size, in the spirit of romantic and pastoral 19th-century landscapes.

Oil on canvas, unsigned or with no visible signature upon examination of the photographs.

Presented in an important gilt wood and stucco frame.

Craquelure, old varnish, wear and rubbing, particularly visible on the painted surface and on the frame. Some losses, chips or small damages to the frame are possible, consistent with age and with the usual fragility of stucco frames.
