Concealed by the pediment are the holes where the tips of the cue would be safely inserted and the blunt ends of the rod can rest on the deep ledge created in front of the glass. The mahogany frame exhibits the profile of classical architecture, complete with a pediment outlined in contrasting satinwood. Thin marquetry strips of the same blonde wood are embedded in the pilasters of the sides, ending in large blocks at the base, which would make this a stunning piece over a narrow fireplace mantel as well. Gently cleaned and polished with a French paste wax to maintain the natural beauty of the wood, ready to install in your interior. We believe this to be in good antique condition considering its age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos.
