Marc Chagall (1887-1985) Poems - The Couple Original wood engraving, 1968 Unsigned On vellum, 32.5 x 25 cm format Rare black prototype before the final version Very good condition NOTE: Proof print with printer's annotation for the book "Poems" published by Cramer in 1968 in a limited edition of 238 copies. These are the only wood engravings made by Chagall. REFERENCE: Cramer Catalogue Raisonné "Chagall: Illustrated Books" No. 74 This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
