An amazing "Schwälmer Hochzeitsstuhl", a traditional wedding chair from the Schwälmer region of Germany.
This type of chair was made and given to newlyweds as part of their wedding dowry.
It includes the names of the bride, possibly, "Anneliese Magnus", as well as the year of the wedding "1902"
Outstanding Folk Art piece, richly decorated with floral motifs: polychrome painting in the form of tendrils of flowers on the edges and a vase motif in the middle, red, yellow and white on dark green grounds.
Rectangular seat on turned legs with turned braces. The posts of the backrest are slightly widened, topped with organic shaped finials
Arched, double-jointed backboard with a curved lower edge, decorated with open baluster gallery with bell hangings at the top
Wicker seat with diamond pattern
Circa 1902, as dated
