We are selling this really interesting and unusual Folk art chip carved box. This box has polychrome lid with unique decoration and three out of four sides with similar chip carving. The way it is constructed, and the surfaces, lead us to believe the top may not be original to the sides and it may have been constructed in the 19th or early 20th century from earlier parts. Top appears to have more age than the sides.
Condition: Good antique condition with appropriate wear. Appears it may have been made up from parts in the late 19th or early 20th century and restored.
