Donn DeVita (1931-2010 NY/CT/MA). A very good New England seascape / landscape done in a modern Impressionist manner, in a way that is competely Donn DeVita. DeVita was a graduate of RI School of Design and received an MA from Columbia University and he was an accomplished artist providing illustrations and paintings for a number of accomplished authors. He also provided designs and illustrations to several textile and design firms.
This particular work is well done and projects a reflective mood one might experience on a rainy day spent by the sea. The work is oil/board and is signed (second signature, verso). It is framed in a simple, modernist frame.
