Beautiful vintage set of 4 quality mahogany English Chippendale style chairs with cabriole legs ending in ball and claw feet … Read more Beautiful vintage set of 4 quality mahogany English Chippendale style chairs with cabriole legs ending in ball and claw feet and having shell carved knees. Love the carved swag with bow on the center of the back splat. The carved foliage on the crest rail is masterfully executed. The difference between common and exceptional is the attention to details. Little things like the curved front seat rail adds beauty to the form but also cost both in labor and material but it was worth it. The carving is very well done. Even the proportions are as they should be. Lovely quality mahogany as well. I believe the chairs were made in the 1930's or 1940's. Chairs are in very good condition with only minor signs of wear consistent with use and age, 3 of the slips seats coverings have minor issues and could be used as they are or recovered when you desire. Chairs stand 38 1/2" tall and are 23" wide at the knees and are 19 1/2" deep. The seat height is 19". These chairs will elevate their surroundings. See less
