Produced by Magnus Fruit Products Co. of San Francisco, the substantial metal container retains its original lithograph advertising graphics, handle, removable porcelain enameled lid, hardware, wooden base, and exterior opening for the original dispensing spigot. The colorful imagery and optimistic California citrus theme make it especially appealing as vintage advertising and Americana.

The insulated interior is zinc-lined and includes a removable trough or reservoir with its original drain, confirming the dispenser’s original commercial use. The dispensing spigot and additional internal mechanisms are no longer present, so this piece is offered as a decorative collectible rather than a functioning beverage dispenser.

Magnus was an important San Francisco producer of fruit products, syrups, flavorings, and beverages and was manufacturing commercial soda-fountain equipment by the late 1920s. The company later became part of Lyons-Magnus.
