This exceptional piece of classic early American country furniture is a mid-19th-century soft wood side table hailing from the historic regions of Lancaster or Lebanon County, Pennsylvania (circa 1840–1860). Expertly hand-constructed from a combination of native poplar and pine, the table displays a quintessential Pennsylvania silhouette. It features a single wide frieze drawer accented by its original turned wood knob, opening to reveal historic hand-planed drawer interiors. The piece stands gracefully on four exquisitely turned legs featuring crisp ring turnings that taper elegantly down to delicate ball feet.
