A wonderful pair of bronze neoclassical grand tour souvenir oil lamp after the Pompeiian antiques. These lamps feature a crane or heron holding up the two lamps on each side. These individual oil lamp have wicks intact and the original tools to extract and tamp the wicks. The lamps have a swan and a mouse or rat as caps. These are beautifully detailed and largely intact. One is intact, one has a leaf missing and a small piece of the rat tail on the lamp cover broken off, both pictured.
These are increasingly hard to find as matched pairs.
