A beautifully restrained mid-century interior painting that captures a simple wooden table positioned before a softly illuminated window, where a modest bouquet of freshly gathered flowers introduces the composition’s only vivid burst of colour, executed in oil onto board and dated 1958.

Rather than focusing on intricate detail, the artist distils the scene into an elegant study of light, atmosphere and quiet domesticity, allowing the interplay between interior and exterior to become the true subject.
