Oil painting on board of a French landscape, two figures in the center looking out over a valley, while a shepherd playing a flute leading a herd of sheep is depicted in the lower right corner. Influenced by the Belle Epoque era. Signed in the lower right corner, S. Gregorakis. Painted in Taos, New Mexico 1992. Framed.
I paint in the traditional style of old masters because I am drawn to the charisma of that era. For me, creating art is a patient ritual. At the heart of my process is the careful preparation of the painting surface. Ultimately my goal is for the person viewing my work to experience a pause, a moment to reflect.
