Design Plus Gallery presents a 1980's Chinoiserie Bombe Chest of Drawers by Phyllis Andrade for White Furniture Company. This distinctive three-drawer chest displays a serpentine front, bombe-form sides, shaped apron, and scrolling feet. The drawer fronts are specially hand-painted with elaborate chinoiserie scenes depicting figures, birds, foliage, architectural elements, and landscape motifs. Gilt detailing outlines the drawer fronts and follows the sculptural contours of the case, while ornate foliate metal pulls complement the decorative composition. The shaped wood top continues the flowing profile and is accented by delicate gilt scrollwork at the corners. It is in good condition with visible and minimal wear from usage. Made in the USA.
