From the Meiji period (1868 - 1912) Hand chased floral pattern interiors. Classic octafoil scalloped rim. Centers are decorated with finely engraved natural motifs in a classic Kacho-ga aristic style. Left dish depicts a blooming chrysanthemum, a symbol of longevity. The right dish bears a songbird perched on a plum branch, representing resilience. One marked Sterling, the other Jungin (Japanese for pure silver) See less
