Hi, this is Linda. I am helping my 101 year old mother-in-law (Pat) liquidate some of her multi-generational collectables. Her maternal grandparents departed residence in Yokohama just months before the Great Kanto Earthquake (Sept 1, 1923). Their new home in California is where Pat was born. Several of her silver items are examples of the limited Japanese artisan craftsmanship remaining after the earthquake destroyed many fine silversmiths workshops and creations.
