The dramatic grain of the top is complemented by a beautifully carved central pedestal featuring foliate and acanthus ornament, supported by an architectural four-footed base with scrolling saber legs.

The hinged top folds open to create a generous playing surface (traditionally a card or game table), while the interior boasts a purple fabric lining, adding an unexpected and particularly charming detail. The table has developed a wonderful aged patina throughout, with naturally worn surfaces and character consistent with its age.
