These magnificent, deeply figured natural calcite alabaster bowls present a rich tapestry of warm amber, honey, and sepia tones. This striking visual depth is the result of centuries of organic iron oxide and mineral deposits accumulating within the stone; as these mineral levels naturally varied over time, they forged the intricate, one-of-a-kind grain patterns and dramatic veining seen across each bowl.

The rough blocks of quarried alabaster were then meticulously lathe-turned, drilled, and fitted by French master artisans to seamlessly integrate with the custom-tailored gilt-bronze frameworks—resulting in a flawless marriage of Italian natural material and French decorative artistry.

When unlit, the bowls display the complex, painterly beauty of a natural sculpture. When illuminated, the stone shifts beautifully, filtering the light into a soft, intensely warm, and atmospheric glow.

These bowls are supported by a triad of bronze supports and a neoclassical frame molded to resemble ropes and foliate motifs, hanging from an acanthus-motif-encrusted crown. They each have nine lights: three internal lights inside the bowl and six on the outside.
