Each plate bears an iron-red … Read more A set of four mid-twentieth-century Jingdezhen porcelain plates, produced in Jiangxi Province, China, circa 1950s–1960s. Each plate bears an iron-red circular Jiangxi Jingdezhen Ming Ci factory mark with No. 5 designation, associating the service with early People's Republic of China Jingdezhen factory production.

The plates are decorated on a vivid yellow ground with dense scrolling floral and foliate ornament in pink, green, turquoise and blue enamels. Four white circular reserves are positioned around each plate, each containing a stylised iron-red Shou longevity character rendered in variant seal-script form. A turquoise and cobalt geometric border frames the composition near the rim.

The decoration combines the traditional Chinese longevity motif with the highly coloured decorative vocabulary of mid-century Jingdezhen porcelain. The undersides are finished in white glaze and retain the circular iron-red factory marks.

According to family provenance, the plates were purchased in Hong Kong in 1972, shipped to the United States and subsequently retained in the family estate collection for approximately five decades. The 1972 date records acquisition rather than manufacture and provides a documented latest acquisition point for the set.

The four plates remain in excellent new-old-stock estate condition, with no chips, cracks or visible wear reported. Display stand is not included.
