Charles Vickery (American, 1913–1998) was born in Hinsdale, Illinois, and studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and the American Academy of Art. Widely regarded as one of the foremost marine painters of his era and recognized by the Los Angeles Maritime Museum as among the finest seascape artists of his time, Vickery was celebrated for his ability to render the color, depth, and shifting moods of water. His oil paintings and limited edition prints are held in private and gallery collections worldwide.
