The scene alludes to a piece of Jersey Shore history I didn't grow up knowing; it became a popular place to hunt waterfowl starting in the 1800s. Hunters would travel down from NYC and Philadelphia, families in tow, to stay at the island hotels and hunt along the shoreline. The painting doesn't reference anything specific to my own life, but it's always carried a summer sweetness I love.

About my work:
I'm a visual artist with a BFA from Laguna College of Art & Design, where I majored in drawing and painting, working primarily from life and the nude figure. My work is inspired by nature, my everyday surroundings, and a collection of old photographs. I show in galleries and exhibitions in addition to selling directly from my studio.
