The Wolf Moon is January's full moon, and got its name because historically it was common to hear wolves howling during this time in winter.

I scout these moonrises in person, then work from memory and reference back in the studio to capture the color and mood of that particular night. I loved the gold hazy moon glowing through the dark winter sky in this scene.

About my work:
I'm a visual artist with a BFA from Laguna College of Art & Design, where I majored in drawing and painting, working primarily from life and the nude figure. My work is inspired by nature, my everyday surroundings, and a collection of old photographs. I show in galleries and exhibitions in addition to selling directly from my studio.
