It sits on an ebonized base of four scrolling supports headed by gilt paterae, rising from a concave platform to splayed sabre legs banded in gilt rope twist and finishing in gilt ball feet. The burl has a deep glowing color, with a few old shrinkage lines in the veneer as these tops nearly always have. See less
