An extraordinary and exceptionally rare matching set of 11 antique fine English Bone China bowls. They were custom manufactured by the legendary Copeland factory in Staffordshire, England, exclusively for luxury retailer Tiffany & Co., New York.
Dating precisely to 1912 via the historic factory pattern ledger, this exquisite set captures the absolute height of Edwardian elegance.
Each piece features a rich, deep Cobalt blue rim, a finish that required immense technical skill to fire flawlessly in the early 20th century.
The vibrant Cobalt border is heavily accented with intricate, radiant gold gilding and a delicate, meticulously executed feathered edging along the rim.
The center of each bowl features a vibrant, hand-painted polychrome basket brimming with multi-colored flowers with a rare detail....... a breathtaking, seamless ring of delicate bluebells (for the American market...where at this time the bluebell was the classic Art Nouveau symbol) executed entirely in raised gold paint from tip to stem. This textured, raised-paste gilding provides an exquisite frame that radiates elegance and beautifully catches candle or ambient dining light.
