A matched set of eight late twentieth-century Limoges porcelain dinner plates, produced in Limoges, France. Each substantial 11.25-inch plate is finished entirely in glossy white porcelain and carries a green circular LIMOGES FRANCE backstamp.
The plates feature an elegant moulded scalloped rim with repeated shallow lobes that give the otherwise restrained whiteware form architectural definition. Their undecorated surface allows the sculptural contour of the rim to provide the principal visual detail while retaining the versatility associated with classic French porcelain.
Generously scaled for dinner or composed-course service, the two matching plates work naturally within French Traditional, French Provincial and French Country table settings.
