Emilian school, first half of the 18th century. The imposing ruined architectural structure, a vestige of past glories as evoked by the marble busts and remains of equestrian statues, becomes the path taken by some wayfarers in the countryside landscape, among whom a couple with a child stands out in the foreground. The pictorial style of the work is close to the methods of Pietro Paltronieri, an Emilian painter (1673-1741) known as the Mirandolese or Mirandolese from perspectives for the genre of painting in which he excelled. The painting has been restored and relined in the past. It comes from the Campari company collection. It is presented in a period frame. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
