This … Read more This is a rare 1980 Karl Springer postmodern matte porcelain centerpiece basket. We had a pair, only one left. This unique decorative object showcases a distinct industrial yet minimalist aesthetic, featuring a faux-tubular or pipe-like structure characteristic of late 20th-century postmodern design. Muted, unglazed brown-purple matte porcelain. It features small, scattered colored flecks ( powder blue and red lines) throughout the material. The "Splatter" Details: If you look closely at the smooth surface, you will see tiny, minimalist flecks of red, and blue. This subtle confetti or splatter effect was widely used by 1980s studio ceramicists to add lighthearted, graphic interest to minimalist shapes.
 It is a lovely piece.. It needs a careful dry dusting. It has felt protectors added to bottom, it shows minor wear as it was primarily displayed in a a cabinet. It has not been used to carry anything or held anything damp. 14" Long X 9" Wide X 9' High See less
