Created as a celebration of women’s fashion through the decades, each plate depicts an elegantly dressed woman representing a distinct period in French fashion history.

The set includes fashions representing 1865, 1890, 1900 and 1910, ranging from an elaborate crinoline gown to Belle Époque and Paul Poiret-inspired dress. Ganeau’s wonderfully expressive illustrations are rendered in soft washes of pink, green, blue, yellow and brown, with each figure individually titled and dated.

Made in Limoges, France, the porcelain plates are marked on the reverse D’Arceau-Limoges, Porcelaine de Limoges France, Première Edition and Fait à la main. The series was produced under the patronage of the Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne. Each plate is individually numbered.

A lovely grouping for a gallery wall, dressing room or anyone with an interest in French fashion and costume history.
