Louis XVI Revival carved walnut fauteuil armchair, dating to the 20th century, distinguished by its finely carved Neoclassical frame and generously upholstered form. The chair features a tall, shaped back, open arms with gracefully curved supports, and exposed carved wood throughout.
The frame is richly ornamented with fluted tapering legs, carved rosette corner blocks, rope-twist detailing, and foliate carving at the upper arm supports. The arm terminals are finished with distinctive concentric carved medallions, adding an especially refined decorative element.
The chair is upholstered throughout in a multicolored woven striped textile with softly varied tones of red, blue, green, gold, cream and brown. The upholstery follows the contours of the deep, comfortable seat and shaped back, while the exposed walnut frame provides a warm contrast to the colorful textile.
