Designed by celebrated folk artist Kathi Bejma Wesson for Walnut Ridge Collectibles, this piece is dated February 1990, representing a highly desirable early production run from the studio. The seated hare features an upright posture, expressive hand-painted facial features, and a beautifully antiqued, warm brown distressed patina. The base is detailed with a hand-painted deep red floral motif nestled among green leaves, bordered by a repeating patterned trim. Please note there is one small, isolated "flea bite" nick on the bottom rim of the painted green base where the white chalkware material underneath is slightly exposed (visible in photos). This minor cosmetic wear is entirely typical for a genuine studio chalkware piece of this age and does not detract from its excellent display value. The underside of the base features the authentic, hand-painted artist signature and date: "Wesson / Ridge / Feb 90". less
