Charcoal black planes shatter into angular shards across the field, each edge traced in hand-drawn bone-white line that wavers just enough to show the weaver's hand. Blocks of saffron and sky blue break through the dark ground like light through stained glass, set against panels of fine checkerboard and seeded dot texture, with two narrow blades of pomegranate red for tension.

Colors and shades include: Carbon black, bone, saffron, marigold, sky blue, cornflower, glacier grey, heather slate and pomegranate red.

Hand-knotted in Afghanistan in Ghazni wool on a cotton foundation. Dense, even pile with deep natural abrash moving through the black ground, most visible in raking light. No border, so the composition runs edge to edge like an unframed canvas. Fully secured sides and ends, washed and ready for in-home use. Size measures 8'10" x 9'10". See less
