Each ottoman features a generously proportioned upholstered cushion resting above a substantial mahogany base with beautifully figured veneer and a distinctive serpentine, ogee-molded profile. The rich reddish-brown mahogany displays varied figuring and natural grain movement that adds depth and character to the otherwise restrained form.
The broad, low silhouettes are characteristic of American Empire seating furniture, while the substantial construction and finely shaped bases give the pair an unusually architectural presence. The matching form and scale make them particularly effective as a pair at the foot of a bed, flanking a fireplace, or incorporated into a sophisticated living-room or library setting.
