The base is molded in a woven basketweave relief in creamy white glaze, flaring outward from a short pedestal with small feet. Piled within it are modeled fruits, each hand-painted in layered, streaky color: a blushing yellow-and-red apple at the crown, a speckled strawberry with a deep green calyx, a violet-blue plum, a rosy apple, a peach-orange pear with a small dark stem hole, a striped green melon, a mottled orange, and a scaled, burgundy pineapple-like fruit with dark, spotted markings. Ruffled leaves in olive, sage, and lime green are tucked between the fruits, adding depth, contrast, and a lively sense of movement.
