The set is marked “HAND PAINTED ITALY” and carries model or production number 82/13.

The substantial glazed earthenware or ceramic body is formed in an architectural octagonal profile, with corresponding geometry carried through the tureen, cover and serving plate. Hand-painted polychrome floral bouquets decorate the cream-toned surfaces, introducing colour across the otherwise formal, symmetrical construction.

The fitted lid completes the covered serving form, while the matching ceramic ladle and underplate preserve the original four-piece serving arrangement.
