Each … Read more Beautiful and very rare, hard-to-find set of 6 vintage Franciscan Earthenware Camellia salad plates in a soft celadon/ivory glaze.

Each 9” plate features an elegant raised camellia flower design with a delicate hand-applied gold floral center and finely ribbed border. The Camellia pattern is particularly uncommon and rarely seen as a complete set of six.

The backstamp identifies the pattern as “Camellia” and includes the Franciscan backstamp with “Made in U.S.A.” The underside of one plate is additionally hand-inscribed:

“HAND DECORATED”
“FOR MIMI HOWARD”
1980

This unusual personalized inscription adds an interesting piece of history to the set.

Condition: Very good original vintage condition. No chips or cracks. The gold decoration on the flower centers shows some signs of wear consistent with age and previous use. Please review all photos carefully.

Care: HAND WASH ONLY! Due to the hand-decorated surface and gold decoration, dishwasher and microwave use are not recommended.
