A matched set of eight vintage Alföldi Porcelán Blue Band ALF5 rimmed soup bowls, manufactured in Hungary and dating to circa 1970s. The form corresponds to the documented ALF5 rimmed soup bowl, with broad shallow wells, wide rims and a restrained double-band decoration in cobalt to navy blue against glossy white hard porcelain.
Each bowl measures approximately 8.625 inches in diameter and 1.375 inches high, dimensions that closely correspond to documented ALF5 examples. The double concentric blue bands are positioned near the outer rim and around the inner well, producing a simple, formal tableware design associated with Alföldi's restaurant and institutional-style porcelain production.
The bowls are formed in hard porcelain with a glossy white glaze and printed backstamps. The broad-rimmed profile distinguishes this form from the coupe cereal and cream soup shapes produced within the same pattern.
Alföldi tableware production began in Hungary in the late 1960s, and the Blue Band ALF5 form is consistent with the company's 1970s output. The set remains notably well preserved for functional tableware of the period.
