The red-brown faux-grained wood frames are enriched with black shading, delicate gold striping, painted ring details, and elaborate harvest decoration. Each gently curved back splat depicts a pedestal fruit bowl surrounded by abundant foliage, berries, and botanical elements. Pillow-form turned crest rails, tapered legs, slender stretchers, and decorated front seat rails give the set a refined yet wonderfully rustic presence.

All four natural rush seats were recently and professionally rewoven in a traditional four-section pattern. Approximately $1,200 was invested in this specialized restoration, leaving the chairs ready for placement around a breakfast table, in a country dining room, or as occasional seating throughout a collected interior.

Although these chairs strongly reflect the Hitchcock tradition—and resemble examples associated with Nichols & Stone—no identifiable manufacturer’s stencil or label has been located. They are consequently described as Hitchcock-style rather than definitively attributed to a particular maker. See less
