Woven in Gujarat, western India, from antique Mashru, the traditional silk-warp, cotton-weft cloth prized for its lustrous face and cool cotton hand. This piece carries Kankani, the traditional micro-dot weave pattern most closely associated with Anjar, Kutch, in a slightly softer, deeper turquoise than its sibling in this batch, finished with contrast fuchsia piping. Viewed up close, the tiny woven dots reveal the handloom's fine, deliberate patterning; from a distance, they read as a softly textured solid.
