Combining sculptural gilt bronze, colorful Sèvres-style porcelain plaques and a quality mechanical movement, the clock is both a functional timepiece and an impressive decorative object.

The architectural bronze case is extensively ornamented with acanthus leaves, floral garlands, scrolling details and classical neoclassical motifs. Its warm gilt finish has developed an attractive antique patina that emphasizes the depth and quality of the bronze casting.

Two finely modelled cherub figures crown the composition. One holds a lamp, traditionally associated with enlightenment, while the other is shown reading a book, creating an allegorical theme centered around knowledge and learning.

Decorative Sèvres-style porcelain plaques are incorporated into the case, featuring romantic pastoral imagery in delicate multicolor tones. Their soft colors contrast beautifully with the richly gilded bronze.

The white enamel dial features Roman and Arabic numerals, elegant hands and two winding apertures.
