A lovely 19th-century French daybed crafted in the Louis XVI style. The wooden bedframe has a painted finish that has become nicely worn and patinated with time. It features arched panels upholstered with a green fabric, which is sure to brighten up any space. Surrounding the panel is a scalloped tape border for extra detail. The fabric has endured some wear over the years, consistent with the bed’s age and continued use. The posts of the frame are carved with fluting and rosettes for added detail. Tapered feet support the bed, typical of the Louis XVI style. Gently cleaned and tightened, ready for use in your interiors. A custom boxspring and mattress would be needed to fit inside the frame. A twin size box spring can rest on top of the side rails with approx. 3 inches of overhang on either side, which would be concealed when the bed is made and styled. We believe this to be in good antique condition considering the age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos. Please view the detailed image gallery for the current condition or reach out with any questions.
