Their bulbous forms are decorated with a series of parallel rings, which continue from the bottoms of the vessels all the way up their thick rims. Based on the ancient Minoan “pithari" or “oil jar," vessels like these were traditionally used to store oil, wine, and grain around the Mediterranean. Today, these pots bring a timeless presence to any garden or outdoor space. The maker’s mark is present and reads “Made in Crete, Pottery Craft, M. Moutsakis." Holes in the bases allow for drainage. We believe these to be in good condition considering their age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos.
