An elegantly shaped silver plate lidded box with smartly beaded rims at the top and bottom and stylized bamboo motifs on all sides. The engraving is deep and expertly done with artisanal flair. There are no marks at all, which may indicate a date of ca.1840 or earlier, when it was common for plated pieces to be unmarked. Very good antique condition: the piece is beautifully polished and lacquered, so it will not need polishing.
